When should you conduct an oil change?
3,000 miles is still a valid option especially if you have an older model vehicle, older being a 2000 year model and back. The main reason is a large number of these vehicles have a lot of mileage and can be more susceptible to engine wear. Honda has a very good reputation for quality engines. These engines are built to very strict and tight tolerances. This in turn means these engines have very little sludge issues.
As such, we at Motorcars International recommend oil changes at 3750 miles for every Honda model, 2000 year and back and around 5000 miles for newer models.
The quality of the oils used and better engines has increased the interval between changes. Make sure to bring your Honda in to Motorcars International for regular oil changes and maintenance check-ups.
How often should I replace my timing belt?
The answer to this question depends on the age of your Honda:
If your car is a is built from 1997 onwards, the timing belt should be replaced every 105,000 miles or 7 years.
For Model years between 1990 to 1996 the timing belt needs replacement every 90,000 miles.
Vehicle models from 1989 and before then should have the timing belts changed every 60,000 miles.
Replacing the timing belt at the recommended intervals will prevent this vital part from breaking while you are driving. If in doubt, just give us a call and schedule an appointment. Our technicians look forward to servicing your Honda soon!
